Overwatch Transhuman Arm – Official Player Guide (HL2RP)

The Overwatch Transhuman Arm (OTA) is the Combine’s elite military division — augmented soldiers bred for absolute obedience and efficiency.They enforce the Union’s will with precision, overwhelming force, and zero hesitation.
OTA units are deployed when Civil Protection fails — during Judgement Waivers, city uprisings, or Outlands operations.
You are not a person; you are a weapon of the Union.

Joining the Overwatch
To become OTA, you must prove yourself through Civil Protection first. Only experienced, disciplined units are accepted for transhuman conversion.Requirements (as defined in the gamemode):
• 500 XP minimum is required to access OTA character creation.
• You must pass the OTA qualification quiz, testing:
• Combine combat doctrine
• Understanding of Judgement Waiver conditions
• Knowledge of codes (10-4, 505, 404, etc.)
• Proper tactical decision-making
OTA positions are highly limited — only a small portion of players may serve in this division (approx. 15% of server population).
Once accepted, your loyalty is total. The Combine owns you.
Divisions and Ranks
OTA forces are divided into specialized divisions, each fulfilling a precise tactical role:
ECHO: Standard Overwatch soldier — mainline combat infantry, city suppression, and escort operations.
MACE: Heavy close-quarters unit — shotgun specialist, breacher, and shock trooper for building assaults.
RANGER: Long-range marksman — equipped for overwatch and precision elimination.
SENTINEL: Personal protection and command guard — defends high-ranking Combine personnel and facilities.
Ranks within OTA are minimal but absolute:
OWS → EOS → LDR → EOW
• OWS: Overwatch Soldier (standard transhuman unit)
• EOS: Elite Overwatch Soldier (enhanced armor and armament)
• LDR: Squad Leader (commands 3–5 OTA units in the field)
• EOW: Executive Overwatch (command liaison in order to create Squad groups through F6 menu)
Your unit identifier will follow the format:
C17.OTA-ECHO.EOS.####
Equipment and Abilities
OTA units are the most heavily equipped ground forces of the Combine. Each class receives optimized loadouts:
Weapons:
• ECHO – AR2 Pulse Rifle (standard issue)
• MACE – SPAS-12 Shotgun (close-quarters combat)
• RANGER – Scoped AR2 / long-range rifle
• SENTINEL – SMG or AR2, defensive loadout
All OTA units may also carry:
• Fragmentation grenades
• Ammunition packs
• Optional stun baton (rarely used except during capture orders)
Armor and Endurance:
OTA units have superior armor and health compared to Civil Protection.
They can absorb heavy fire and move quickly despite their size due to synthetic muscle enhancements.
Door and Terminal Access:
OTA have maximum access clearance (Levels 1–4), including:
• Nexus armory
• Outpost gates
• Judgement Waiver terminals
• City lockdown controls
Available Commands:
• /plazaelevator – Use near the Nexus elevator to travel vertically.
• /outpost1 – Opens the Combine Outpost 1 gate.
• /outpost2 – Opens the Combine Outpost 2 gate (main OTA base in Outlands).
(Commands only function when used near the corresponding mechanism by authorized Combine factions.)
Radio System
OTA share the encrypted Overwatch Command Net with Civil Protection.
Use /radio <message> to communicate. OTA are expected to speak in concise, coded transmissions only.
Example transmissions:
• “10-4, beginning sweep.”
• “Confirmed 505 at checkpoint. Engaging.”
• “Judgement Waiver in effect, commencing sterilization protocol.”
You may use standard ten-codes and violation codes (see: Combine Violation Codebook) but OTA communication style is colder, more procedural, and free of emotion.
OTA transmissions often include keywords like:
• “Stabilize” – restore order
• “Amputate” – execute target
• “Sterilize” – purge area
• “Necrotic” – biological hazard
• “Parasitic” – alien infestation
• “Infestation Zone” – rebel-occupied region
Example:
“Sector sweep complete. All necrotics sterilized. Area SOCIOSTABLE.”
Combat Conduct
Engagement Protocol:
OTA operate under Judgement Waiver Authority. Lethal force is standard unless ordered otherwise.
Always confirm your target and report kills over radio.
Coordination:
Operate in squads. OTA do not act independently.
Follow your LDR or EOW orders without hesitation.
Behavior:
OTA do not express fear, doubt, or emotion.
Speech should be robotic, precise, and mission-oriented.
You do not “roleplay emotions”; you execute objectives.
Targets:
• Citizens — ignored unless hostile under Waiver conditions
• Rebels / Anti-Citizens — terminate on sight
• Vortigaunts — terminate unless under Combine control
• Civil Protection — coordinate and protect; never overrule without command
Outlands Operations:
The Outlands are OTA jurisdiction. CP units rarely deploy there.
Use /outpost1 and /outpost2 to manage gates and movement between Outpost facilities.
Outlands combat is lethal by default — no arrests, no negotiation.
Field Protocols
• Remain radio-silent unless transmitting mission-critical data.
• Report visual contact using code phrases (“Possible 505 in Sector B.”).
• Execute “Amputate” only under combat conditions or command authorization.
• Maintain formation — avoid breaking unit cohesion.
• Use cover and suppressive fire to control chokepoints.
• Log post-operation reports in the terminal after missions.
Tips for New Overwatch Units
• Never engage in casual talk — OTA are not human.• Use coded speech. Avoid personal pronouns (“I”, “me”).
• Follow all orders from Command or Dispatch immediately.
• Remember: OTA = full loyalty, no individuality.
• Do not interact socially with citizens or CP unless operational.
• Maintain discipline — errors reflect disobedience to the Union.
Example of correct demeanor:
“I am in position. Awaiting sterilization directive. Unit ready — 10-8.”
