Our Direction: Semi-Serious HL2RP — Simple by Design, Shaped by You
TL;DR: We’re a Semi-Serious HL2RP server. Immersion and fair-play matter, but we keep systems lightweight so the fun comes from roleplay—not from “100 billion” mechanics. We’ll keep iterating with the community to follow what the majority wants.
What “Semi-Serious” means here
- Immersion + accountability: Anti-RDM/anti-minge guardrails, prop limits, and clear staff tools keep chaos in check.
- Not hardcore sim: No forced PK, just a 5 minutes New Life Rule. Medical/survival exist but aren’t ultra-punishing.
- Structured factions: CP/OTA access is controlled (quizzes/quotas), with dispatch tools and city codes to guide play—without micromanaging it. CP and CWU command ranks to be elected through polls on the forums.
Why players call it “fun and simple”
- Clean, readable gameplay: A few clear systems (economy/rations, simple hunger) instead of endless meters and micro-systems.
- Focused crafting: General Workbench, Weapon Bench, and Stove with a sensible set of recipes—useful, not bloated.
- Meaningful escalation: Some gear unlocks with city codes and circumstances, so power ramps with the situation, not loadout spam.
- Less clutter, more RP: We avoid random prop spam and visual noise so scenes are easier to stage and read. While new tools are added for builders like Wire, Advanced Duplicator and Materials, Precisions Tools and much more...
What it’s not
- Not “hardcore-only” bureaucracy where every action needs huge forms to fill and five-minute speeches in order to succeed a whitelist into a rank or practice a roleplaying scene (we won't force you but you can express yourself with long discourses),
- Not a free-for-all where RDM/minging runs the show. There are simple conditions that are easy to understand.
- Not a mechanics maze—if a system doesn’t add clear RP value.
Guardrails that keep it fair (without killing the vibe)
- Auto-mod style checks to curb RDM/minge patterns.
- Reasonable OOC/LOOC boundaries to protect in-character flow.
- Prop limits and protections against prop abuse.
- Ration/economy that’s easy to understand, with punishments only when someone abuses the rules.
How we’ll keep improving — majority first
- Regular polls on Discord/Forums (in Ideas & Suggestions) for tweaks (stricter vs. looser rules, crafting breadth, economy pacing).
- Trial weeks for bigger ideas, followed by a community vote to keep, adjust, or revert.
- Clear patch notes so everyone knows what changed and why. Actually posted on Discord. Things change fast !
Call to action: Tell us what you want more (or less) of. If the majority leans more serious, we’ll tighten enforcement and depth. If the majority prefers it lighter, we’ll keep the friction low. Either way, the North Star is the same: fun, readable RP with enough structure to feel HL2—without turning the game into a spreadsheet.
See you in-game !
