Stun Baton – Official Use & Operating Guide
“Compliance is only one spark away.”Introduction
The Stun Baton is the primary non-lethal weapon issued to Civil Protection units. It is designed to maintain order, subdue unruly citizens, and demonstrate the authority of the Combine through controlled force.
This weapon has three operational modes, each escalating the level of response. Understanding and mastering these modes is vital for maintaining efficiency and professionalism during patrols.
Operating Modes
- Mode 1 – Passive
No electrical charge. The baton functions as a simple melee weapon.
Used for light disciplinary taps or breaking objects.
No sparks, no buzz, minimal damage. - Mode 2 – Active (Stun)
The baton emits electrical sparks on impact, delivering a controlled shock.
Ideal for subduing resisting citizens or non-compliant suspects.
Produces visible sparks and an electric discharge sound. - Mode 3 – Overcharge (Buzz)
The baton hums with continuous energy, signifying readiness for crowd control or high-risk enforcement.
Constant buzzing sound, heavy electrical visuals, and increased stun effect.
How to Switch Modes
- Equip your Stun Baton.
- Make sure the weapon is raised (not lowered).
• Hold RELOAD briefly to lower or raise your weapon. - Hold your WALK key (default: Alt).
- While holding WALK, press RIGHT-CLICK to cycle through modes:
1 → 2 → 3 → 1 … - Each switch plays an activation animation and sound cue.
Note: If you lower your weapon (holding RELOAD for a few seconds), the baton automatically resets to Mode 1 (Passive) and stops emitting electricity.
Field Use Guidelines
- Use Mode 1 for presence and compliance checks.
- Use Mode 2 for citizen control and quick stuns.
- Reserve Mode 3 for riot situations or aggressive suspects.
- Do not use electrical modes on Combine personnel or Union property !!!
- Always return the baton to Mode 1 when leaving duty.
